Did you know you could hire one or both of the downstairs rooms at the Town Hall?
We have two versatile rooms to hire for your event, party, consultation, community group or meeting.
The studio, at the rear, has kitchen facilities, toilets and its own entrance with disabled access.
The studio has a maximum capacity of 60 persons, this could be less depending on the room layout required.
The Arts Centre, with all its original features, also has its own entrance, disabled facilities and toilets.
The maximum capacity is 180 persons standing only – or 140 seated theatre style. The Arts Centre boasts 120 tiered seating, adaptable staging and a professional sound and lighting system – making Selby Town Hall one of the most flexible venues in North Yorkshire.
The Town Hall has played host to wedding ceremonies and receptions, birthday parties, conferences, AGM’s, community groups and earlier this year a film company chose the Town Hall to shoot some scenes for a movie due to be released in December this year.
The Town Hall front gardens have recently been landscaped to showcase the Sailing Through Time sculptures. These two sculptures reflect the maritime and ship building heritage of Selby, from Viking ships to modern day trawlers built by Cochrane & Sons. Both sculptures and garden areas provide seating areas to relax in. The sculptures were designed by local artist Ollie Holman. Ollie held workshops with local schools whilst developing the designs.
A small courtyard can be accessed from both rooms and provides a private breakout area with seating and planting.
South parade pay and display car park is directly to the rear of the Town Hall.
