In 2011 over £50,000 was spent in refurbishment to the play area and the Town Council manage the site.
There are three areas of play, younger children, older children and adult gym equipment on site. There is also a basketball/netball area that is fenced off to allow children and young people to play ball games in a safe environment.
This play area continues to suffer from vandalism including the small child’s basket swing being damaged, the soft pour surface constantly ripped up in areas that costs large amounts of money to repair, and it is a crying shame that local residents and people who see the vandalism taking place do not report the incidents to the police as they are frightened of recrimination.
The Town Council want children to have excellent facilities and a safe environment to play. Help us to keep this and other play areas in Selby vandal free.
