he Community Centre on Scott Road Selby is managed by Selby Town Council on behalf of Selby Community Trust. Selby Community Trust is a registered charity and a team of nine trustees is responsible for the Community Centre and the surrounding recreational area. The Community Trust is a registered charity – registration number 523830. The Community Trust have their own website www.selbycommunitycentre.wordpress.com
In May 2012 the Coalfields Regeneration Trust gave a grant of £5,000 towards the replacement doors and windows. They were installed in June 2012 and are a great benefit to all that use the centre.
Meeting Rooms at the Community Centre are available for hire, please contact the Town Hall Office on 01757 708449, or complete the below room booking form and send back via email or post to email@example.com. The booking will not be complete until you have received acknowledgement back from a member of the Town Council staff.
Selby Playgroup use the main hall Monday – Friday during the day. The main hall can be rented for functions, dances, weddings and has access to a lounge area and kitchen. A new wooden floor has recently been fitted. There are 3 committee rooms, an attic which has its own kitchen and toilet facilities and outside areas. It also has a free car park at the venue.
Awards for All have contributed £10,000 towards the repairs to the roof, guttering and fascia boards in 2013. Having a safe and secure environment for the community groups to use will be fabulous and the Community Trust are very grateful to the Big Lottery Fund. Photo’s in the Gallery.
In 2014 Awards for All contributed £10,000 for the refurbishment of the ground floor ladies and gents toilets – pictures below. The toilets are completely disabled friendly and have nappy changing facilities in both sets of toilets. Photo’s of the refurbished toilets are in the Gallery.
In 2015/16 Big Lottery Fund supported the Trust with £9,000 for replacement Foyer and Emergency Doors at the Community Centre. Photos of the new doors are in the Gallery.
The Community Centre field has 3 play areas, one for the younger children and two for the older children.
