The Community Centre on Scott Road Selby is managed by Selby Town Council on behalf of Selby Community Trust. Selby Community Trust is a registered charity and a team of nine trustees is responsible for the Community Centre and the surrounding recreational area. The Community Trust is a registered charity – registration number 523830.
In May 2012 the Coalfields Regeneration Trust gave a grant of £5,000 towards the replacement doors and windows. They were installed in June 2012 and are a great benefit to all that use the centre.
Meeting Rooms at the Community Centre are available for hire, please contact the Town Hall Office on 01757 708449, or complete the below room booking form and send back via email or post to admin@selbytowncouncil.co.uk. The booking will not be complete until you have received acknowledgement back from a member of the Town Council staff.
Selby Playgroup use the main hall Monday – Friday during the day. The main hall can be rented for functions, dances, weddings and has access to a lounge area and kitchen. A new wooden floor has recently been fitted. There are 3 committee rooms, an attic which has its own kitchen and toilet facilities and outside areas. A lift is soon to be fitted in the centre which will allow accessibility to the attic room. It also has a free car park at the venue.
The Community Centre field has 3 play areas, one for the younger children and two for the older children. A double space net was installed on the community field in 2020 for explorative and adventurous fun for older children.
