The Town Council awarded £28,182 in community grants. The grant cheques were presented to the groups at the Grants Presentation Ceremony at the Town Hall on the 18 May by the Mayor Cllr M Dyson.  Cllr Dyson said “In these difficult times the role which Voluntary Organisations play in supporting our community is more vital. Selby Town Council is delighted to be able to offer support in the form of grants to individual organisations in Selby who play such a key role in helping people of Selby and making the Town a more vibrant, caring and responsive community. I congratulate all the organisations receiving a grant for the work they  do to make a huge difference in Selby“.

The grants were presented to the following groups:

Selby District Vision, Selby and District Rail Users Group, Spirit of Christmas, Citizen’s Advice Mid-North Yorkshire, Selby Womblers, Selby Abbey, Selby Civic Society, Apollo, St James’ Church – Squiggles and Wiggles Toddler Group, Vale of York Athletic Community and Community Furniture Store
