Christmas Lights Switch On

This year the Christmas Lights will be switched on by the Mayor, Councillor George Carter, on Saturday 1 December at 4.00pm at the Market Place, Selby.  There will be a Christmas Market from 9.00am - 5.00pm on the Market Place. Minster FM will be on site and local bands and choirs will be playing and singing to entertain visitors throughout the day. 

Make it a day to remember, join us for the fun and festivities.

We look forward to wishing all of Selby a very Merry Christmas.

Bonfire and Fireworks Display on Saturday 3 November, at the Community Centre, Scott Road, Selby – bonfire lit at 6.30pm, firework displays at 7.00pm and 7.30pm. Minster FM will be in attendance to entertain spectators.  Rides and sideshows will also be on the field.  Spectators will not be allowed to bring their own fireworks (including sparklers).  This is an alcohol free event, any drinks will be confiscated.  No Dogs and Cycles allowed.

Remembrance Service at the Abbey on Sunday 11 November from 10.00am followed by the laying of wreaths at the monument in Selby Park.

The annual family fun day event starting at 12 noon on the Selby Community centre on Scott Road.

Farmers Market Wednesday 5 December

9am to 1pm Come along and support local producers, Locally reared beef, pork and lamb. Award winning sausages and pork pies. Also game, chillis, olives, cheese, home baked cakes and pies.  LAST CHANCE BEFORE CHRISTMAS


Selby Town Hall, Thursday 29 November from 6.00pm - 9.00pm.  Lots of lovely Christmas Craft stalls including cards, candles, jewellery, cakes and lots more.  Free entry.  Hope to see you there.
