Selby Bonfire and Firework Spectacular 5 November 2016 

The Bonfire was lit by the Bishop of Selby and he also lit the first firework. It was a fabulous event with over 4,000 people in attendance. Minster FM were in attendance and they said it was the best firework demonstration they had been to this year.

The event was FREE however local charities had  'bucket' collections on the night. Marie Curie Fundraising raised £1,108.00 and Friends of Selby War Memorial Hospital raised £975.13. Selby Community Primary School raised £310 from selling Glo necklaces and bracelets that the town council provided, Martin House Childrens Hospital raised £190 from providing hot snacks and drinks.

The town council support local charities and groups throughout the year and are always pleased by the generosity of local people at the bonfire event.
