Selby Town Council have a vacancy for a Finance Manager and Responsible Finance officer (RFO)

Our new Finance Manager will be responsible for the effective management of the Town Council's finances and resources.

You will hold a relevant and appropriate financial qualification or be willing to work towards it.

The post is 23 hours per week (over 3 days)

Annual salary will be National Joint Council scale points 26-29 (£29,636 - £32,029 pro rata)

Our new Events/Market Manager will be responsible for the management and control of the markets owned or under the management of the Town Council. You will also be required to organise special markets/events including Christmas and Food Festivals as well as working with other members of Town Council staff to plan events from start to finish.

The post is part time 15 hours per week (over 2 days - To include Monday)

Annual Salary will be National Joint Council scale points 19-23 (£24,799 - £26,999 pro rata)

Selby Town Council is the local authority for the town of Selby and is committed to working with partners and residents to make Selby a vibrant market town.

The Town Council have 12 staff including office, grounds maintenance and caretaking/cleaning staff.  The  Town Council office is based at the Town Hall on the junction of Gowthorpe, Brook Street and Leeds Road. Office opening hours are 10.00 am to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday.  There are parking spaces available at the Town Hall.

The Town Council are responsible for the Town Hall, Selby Cemetery, 3 allotments, 3 play areas, Longmann Hills Farmhouse and Selby Market.  The Town Council also manage the Community Centre on Scott Road and the Community Woodland on Bondgate on behalf of Selby Community Trust. Selby In Bloom Competition is held annually and entry forms are available from the Allotment Page on our website.

Selby Town Councillors are also members of the Central Community Engagement Forum (CEF).  Town Councillors are members of the CEF Partnership Board. Central CEF meet quarterly and engage with the community, other partner organisations and local businesses.
